ABOUT US
Foresta is the project of vignerons Lluís Carsí and Gerard Maristany. Together, we produce organic wines with minimal intervention in the Massís del Garraf, very close to Barcelona, in the Penedès appellation.
Discreet and hard to find like a fox, Foresta is a deliberately small winery, with a hands-on approach, putting great attention to detail.
In the vineyard we work with the utmost respect for the land, with the support of the Catalan Council for Ecological Agricultural Production. In the cellar, the fermentations are spontaneous and our interventions, minimal and very deliberate.
OUR WINES
The starting point at Foresta is a collection of vineyards surrounded by forests in the middle of the Garraf Massif. Historically, this region had been one of the great wine-growing areas of Catalonia, and today it is once again claiming prominence.
The Massís del Garraf has extremely poor soils, from which grapes with an immense concentration of aromas come out. The calcareous soil from which they are made gives the wines an excellent acidity. The sea breeze -called "marinada"- that blows from Sitges and the strong presence of forests help to maintain relatively low temperatures and a certain environmental humidity during the ripening period, which the vines greatly appreciate. It is often said that the characteristic salinity of Garraf wines is thanks to the Mediterranean breezes that arrive there daily.
Our wines aspire to reflect this landscape: they are concentrated, saline and recall the aromas of the undergrowth that perfume this unique landscape.

Barraca entre Vinyes is the ideal complement to a visit to Vins de Foresta. You'll enjoy a unique experience, which blends tradition and modern comforts.
You will stay in converted sheds that have been used by farmers since the eighteenth century, with a philosophy of 100% sustainability, respect for the environment and personalized attention for every guest.
